CEELBAS Post-Soviet Media Project
The Post-Soviet Media Project is hosted jointly by the University of Manchester and the University of Birmingham, with the gratefully acknowledged support of CEELBAS. Arising from public debates held in 2007, the project has the following goals:
- to establish a post-Soviet media forum on a permanent basis
- to extend its remit beyond Russia to other CIS countries
- to further, through 'live' one-day workshops and follow-up online discussions, interdisciplinary discussion of approaches to the study of post-Soviet media
- to facilitate original, cutting-edge research and scholar practitioner exchange in the field
Anyone with an academic or professional interest in media within the post-Soviet space is welcome to join the forum; full instructions on how to register can be found here.
The project also aims to establish a reference list of online resources relevant to the study of post-Soviet media. This list is freely accessible with no registration necessary. (As of March 1, 2008, the list remains in its beta phase.)
