CTIS staff and students also benefit from the expertise of visiting academics. In particular, CTIS has a long-term and very fruitful collaboration at MA and PhD levels with Dr Chris Rundle (University of Bologna at Forli, Italy) and Professor Ebru Diriker (University of Bogacizi, Turkey).
- Dr Chris Rundle specialises in history of translation and audiovisual translation. He is author of A Poisonous Importation: Publishing Translations in Fascist Italy (forthcoming) and co-editor of Translation Under Fascism (forthcoming). He is coordinating editor of inTRAlinea, the online translation studies journal of the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies in Translation, Languages and Culture, University of Bologna.
- Professor Ebru Diriker specialises in sociological approaches to the study of conference interpreting. She is author of De-/Re-Contextualizing Conference Interpreting: Interpreters in the Ivory Tower? (2004). She is an experienced conference interpreter and interpreting trainer, and is a member of the AIIC Training Committee.
