Research specialisation:

With a sound background in the discipline of Translation Studies, I have branched out over the last two and a half years in undertaking research at the intersection of Memory Studies, Intercultural Studies, and Media Studies.

My main research interests can be categorized under the following headings:

Research students:

I have been involved in supervision of the following PhD students in the area of Translation Studies: Co-supervisor for current students: Luciana Kaross, Flaminia Robu; second supervisor for: Sharifah Shaik Ismail (completed 2008), Aurora Sambolin. I also supervise dissertations for the Masters in Translation and Interpreting Studies.

Professional biography:

Prior to becoming an academic, I worked as a professional translator and interpreter. I completed my doctoral studies at the University of Queensland, Australia, and previously held an academic post there.
