The Translational English Corpus (TEC)
The Centre houses the first and largest computerised corpus of translated text in the world. The Translational English Corpus is freely available to the research community via the Centre's website, together with relevant software for processing it. This substantial resource, supported by funding from the British Academy in the past, has spearheaded the development of a unique research methodology which has informed the work of numerous research students (at Manchester and elsewhere) and various research programmes around the world, including research projects in Finland, Germany, Spain, Italy and Brazil.
