The Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies provides an excellent environment for research.
Specialists from the University of Manchester, UCL, University of Edinburgh and Hong Kong Baptist University collaborate to offer an annual Translation Research Summer School, a two-week course offering intensive research training in translation and intercultural studies for prospective researchers in the field. TRSS UK 2011 Summer School takes place from 27 June to 8 July 2011 in Manchester.
CTIS organises a series of weekly seminars which attract a large national audience of researchers, students and professional translators. The CTIS seminar series forms an important part of initiation into the world of scholarly research and offers our students a valuable opportunity for informal contact with leading academics and practitioners.
CTIS Occasional Papers contain research reports and working papers written by guest speakers at CTIS research seminars, postgraduate students and other scholars connected to CTIS.
CTIS co-hosted (with UCL) the Research Models in Translation Studies II conference from 29 April to 2 May 2011. Details of papers, panels, plenary speakers, etc. are available on the conference website.
