MA in Italian Studies: Pathway under MA European Languages and Cultures

Areas of specialist study include: Medieval and Renaissance culture; Dante; Italian linguistics; twentieth-century Italian poetry; nineteenth- and twentieth-century Italian history; culture and dictatorship; censorship; translation; the history of Venice.

The MA in Italian Studies is a modular programme, with a free choice of course units from those offered within Italian. The MA in Italian Studies comprises the prescribed core courses in Research Methods and Critical Theory I and II (60 credits), a dissertation (60 credits) and two taught option courses (to a total of 60 credits) selected from the list below:
