Postgraduate study in Chinese Studies
MA Contemporary China develops students' interest and knowledge of contemporary China from a range of disciplinary perspectives. Through studies of Chinese history, culture, society, politics, economy and/or business, students will gain a thorough grounding in critical theoretical approaches in Chinese Studies. They will develop an in-depth understanding of the significant events that have shaped twentieth-century China and knowledge of China's current economic development and political system. In addition, they will command a set of influential critical theories and paradigms in Chinese Studies and be able to apply them to new problems and issues.
