CTIS has the largest concentration of translation and interpreting specialists in the UK. Our publications include standard references in the field: Routledge Encyclopedia of Translation Studies; In Other Words; Translation and Conflict: A Narrative Account; Introducing Corpora in Translation Studies and The Translator.

We offer comprehensive MA programmes in translation and in conference interpreting. We also run PhD programmes in translation, interpreting and intercultural studies and we host academic scholars for research visits and access to the Translational English Corpus.

CTIS activities include weekly research seminars, open to all. We are co-organisers of the annual Translation Research Summer School, the International Postgraduate Conference in Translation and Interpreting Studies and the Research Models in Translation Studies II Conference (2011).
