Our Research

The School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures has achieved an outstanding result in RAE 2008.

Our submissions in Iberian and Latin American Languages and Russian, Slavonic and East European Languages are top of their national league tables. Each has 30% or more of its research rated as world leading, and 70% or above as 'world leading' or 'internationally excellent'.

In 7 of the 8 submissions, at least 50% of our research is rated as 'world leading' or 'internationally excellent'. In over a third of our submissions, the figure is 60% or more.

This result places SLLC among the UK's leading Schools of its kind.
