The University of Manchester's School of Languages Linguistics and Cultures is a multi-cultural community with many students from the European Union and a range of countries throughout the world. This means that you can make friends and learn from students with diverse backgrounds as well as meet students from your home country. Most importantly our School features the greatest concentration of high-quality research and teaching in language-based disciplines in the UK. Our research interests include translation and interpreting studies, literary study in all its forms and over all historical periods from the Middle Ages onwards, performance and film studies and women's writing, with a strong element of literary, cultural and feminist theory.
