Research

Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at Manchester has established its reputation as one of the UK's leading centres for research in the Assessment exercise (RAE) 2008. In the Times Higher Education rankings based on quality profiles, Manchester's research comes out ahead of all other UK universities. The RAE rated 30% of our research activity to be 'world leading', and a total of 75% as 'world leading' or 'internationally excellent.' Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies is part of the School of Languages, Linguistics, and Cultures, one of the leading units of its kind in the country.
